Job Duties / Job Description:
As a System Analyst, the beneficiary will perform the following job duties:
Systems Analysis and Design – 25% of the work
- Analyze current systems and processes to identify inefficiencies, redundancies, and areas for improvement.
- Gather and translate business requirements into functional specifications and system design documents.
- Design scalable and secure system architectures integrating both on-premises and cloud-based solutions.
- Work with developers and architects to create system prototypes and validate design approaches.
- Develop and manage use cases, data flow diagrams, and UML models to support system requirements.
Technology/Skillset Used: UML, BPMN, Visio, Lucidchart, SQL, System Architecture, Azure, AWS, RESTful APIs.
Data Analysis and Integration – 20% of the work
- Perform detailed data analysis, profiling, and mapping to support data migration and integration efforts.
- Identify data quality issues and design remediation strategies to improve data integrity and consistency.
- Develop ETL specifications and support the implementation of data pipelines between systems.
- Collaborate with data engineers to define metadata standards, data dictionaries, and lineage tracking.
Technology/Skillset Used: SQL, Python, Power BI, SSIS, Informatica, Talend, Data Warehousing, ETL, JSON, XML.
Requirements Gathering and Stakeholder Collaboration – 15% of the work
- Conduct workshops and interviews with stakeholders to elicit clear business requirements.
- Create detailed documentation including business requirements documents (BRDs) and functional specifications.
- Facilitate discussions between business users and technical teams to ensure solution alignment.
- Use agile tools to maintain and refine product backlogs in collaboration with product owners.
Technology/Skillset Used: Jira, Confluence, Agile, Scrum, BRD, FRD, Stakeholder Management.
System Testing and Quality Assurance – 15% of the work
- Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and acceptance criteria based on requirements.
- Perform system, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT) to validate functionality.
- Track and manage defects and issues through resolution using bug tracking tools.
- Collaborate with QA teams to ensure comprehensive test coverage and regression testing.
Technology/Skillset Used: TestRail, Postman, Selenium, UAT, Functional Testing, Regression Testing, JIRA, Zephyr.
Technical Documentation and Knowledge Management – 10% of the work
- Document system configurations, process flows, and business rules in a centralized repository.
- Create user manuals, training materials, and SOPs for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Maintain version-controlled documentation aligned with change management protocols.
- Support internal knowledge sharing through collaborative platforms and documentation reviews.
Technology/Skillset Used: Confluence, SharePoint, Git, Visio, SOP Writing, Markdown, Microsoft Office Suite.
System Implementation and Support – 10% of the work
- Assist in deployment planning, data migration, and go-live activities for new systems.
- Provide Tier-2/3 technical support for system-related issues post-deployment.
- Coordinate with vendors for implementation and post-implementation support.
- Monitor post-implementation performance and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
Technology/Skillset Used: Azure DevOps, ServiceNow, Change Management, Monitoring Tools, ITIL, Helpdesk.
Technology Evaluation and Innovation – 5% of the work
- Stay current on emerging tools, platforms, and methods relevant to business systems analysis.
- Evaluate new technologies and recommend adoption based on cost-benefit analysis.
- Support digital transformation initiatives through pilot projects and proof-of-concepts.
Technology/Skillset Used: RPA, AI/ML Basics, SaaS, PaaS, Cloud Integration, API Management, Business Intelligence.
